Dark patterns we will never ship
A dark pattern is any design that quietly works against you to benefit us: the fake countdown, the buried unsubscribe, the streak that punishes a day off. They are everywhere, and they work. That is exactly why we will not use them.
Our rule is simple. If a feature only makes sense because it exploits your attention rather than serving it, it does not ship. No manufactured urgency, no guilt mechanics, no roach-motel checkouts you cannot back out of.
This costs us some easy growth, and we are fine with that. 人間 - human first - is not a slogan on a page. It is the thing we check every feature against before it goes out the door.
