Privacy Policy.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Ninki Gen Studio ("we", "us") collects through ninkigenstudio.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It covers this website and our mailing lists. Our products, including Bunshu, are hosted on their own domains and carry their own privacy policies (Bunshu's is at bunshu.com/privacy).

We are a small studio and we keep our data collection deliberately minimal. If a section here feels short, that's because there genuinely isn't more to say.

Who we are

Ninki Gen Studio (UEN 53527055X) is a sole proprietorship of Lim Ying Min registered in Singapore, at 60 Paya Lebar Road, #11-22, Paya Lebar Square, Singapore 409051. For any privacy-related question or request, contact us at hello@ninkigenstudio.com.

Data Protection Officer: Lim Ying Min, hello@ninkigenstudio.com.

What data we collect

We collect exactly one piece of personal data, your email address, and only if you choose to give it to us, in one of two ways:

  • Through the newsletter signup form on this site, so we can send you the weekly digest.
  • Through bunshu.com: if you tick its optional line, "Be the first to receive news and exclusive offers from Bunshu and Ninki Gen Studio", your email address joins Ninki Gen Studio's mailing lists too. That is a separate consent from joining Bunshu's waitlist.

What we don't collect

To be equally clear about the boundary:

  • No cookies, no advertising trackers, and nothing that follows you across other sites. The cookieless page counts we do keep are described under "Cookies and tracking" below.
  • No account creation, payment details, or browsing history are collected here. Accounts and purchases for our products (for example, Bunshu Plus) happen in the product itself, on its own site or app store, under that product's own terms and privacy policy, never on this site.
  • If you join our Telegram channel, that relationship is with Telegram, not with us — see "Telegram channel" below.

How we use your data

Your email address is used to send the newsletter you signed up for, and to manage that subscription (e.g. honouring an unsubscribe request). If you gave your consent on bunshu.com, we also use it to send you news and offers from Bunshu and Ninki Gen Studio. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we do not sell, rent, or trade it to anyone.

Third-party processors

We use a small number of service providers to run this site, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:

  • Brevo: stores your email address, delivers our emails once you subscribe, and records whether each email is opened and which of its links are clicked (see "Cookies and tracking").
  • Cloudflare: hosts this website, relays the signup form to Brevo without retaining your email beyond that relay, and runs the cookieless Web Analytics described under "Cookies and tracking".

Telegram channel

Our Telegram channel runs entirely on Telegram's platform. If you join it, Telegram (not Ninki Gen Studio) collects and processes whatever data your Telegram account provides. We don't receive or store a list of our channel's members. Telegram's own privacy policy governs that relationship.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies. To understand which pages people read, it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script Cloudflare adds to each page. It counts page views (the page, the site you came from, and your browser, device type and country) without cookies, without storing anything on your device, and without fingerprinting you or building a profile of you. We only ever see the totals.

Our emails, sent through Brevo, record whether each one is opened and which of its links are clicked, so we can see which parts of an issue were useful. Unsubscribing stops this along with the emails.

If we ever add anything beyond this, we will update this policy first, before it goes live.

Data retention

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to the newsletter. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, we remove it from our active mailing list promptly.

Your rights

Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct any inaccurate data.
  • Withdraw consent, at any time, and without giving a reason — the unsubscribe link in every email does this instantly. If you joined through the optional line on bunshu.com, you can also stop only the news and offers by replying to any of our emails, or by emailing hello@ninkigenstudio.com.
  • Request deletion of your data.

How to exercise your rights

Email hello@ninkigenstudio.com with your request. Because we hold very little data about any one person, we're able to resolve most requests directly rather than through a formal intake process — but we aim to respond within a reasonable time regardless.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Data security

We rely on reputable providers (Brevo, Cloudflare) who maintain their own industry-standard security measures for the data they process on our behalf. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what little data we hold.

International data transfers

Our service providers may store or process data outside Singapore. Where this happens, we rely on those providers' own safeguards and standard contractual protections for cross-border transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
